Patsos Gorge
This gorge is more a challenge for those asking for difficult tracks.
To move down the river-path, you will have to hold ropes and chains.... and it's almost unavoidable to get the legs or shoes WET ( sometimes the only passage is THROUGH the shallow waters of the river bed).
After visiting the gorge, we moved to a close-by Water Bassin ( Arami).
This storage lake has a hydro-electric installment .
The main use is to provide drinking water trough the island.
Potami Dam Lake is an artificial lake, which was constructed in 2009, when the homonym dam was also inaugurated. This lake is located in the fertile valley of Amari complementing harmonically the landscape while it is soon expected to be an important biotope. It was mainly constructed for irrigation purposes, but there may be and exploitation of its water for energy production.
