WALKING-- Stylos/Provarma/Farragi - GR route

 WALKING-- Stylos/Provarma/Farragi  - GR route

This was one optimal choice,   allthough that day the original plan was to hike the Diktamos gorge again, we made one alternative circle catching up one official GR - route.

We passed areas with open view on top of the gorge, ruins , bridges and a water tower.

This is one of the churches in the area of Stylos.

These are the marks showing the road.

Another church close to Stylos village.

In Stylos you will notice the maps of all walks.

Old stonemills  ....used to grind cereals/olives.

The most impressive part of the walk must have been the St. John Church in Stylos ( with astonishing frescoes) and the small fossile of a Dugong (order of sireneans) , one animal that lived in the tropical estuaries around Crete more then 10000 years ago.

Finally whe have the pittoresque church of Saint John.

At the end of the walk, close to Faraggi (where started), we walk near the gorge again.
